Veneers are pieces of thin porcelain that are used with the purpose of imitating the appearance of real teeth. They also provide resilience and strength that is similar to that of real tooth enamel. They are used to correct crowded or discoloured teeth, teeth that are too long or too short or to fill gaps between your teeth. A dentist will usually begin the veneer process by giving the patient a smile analysis. This will let the dentist determine what they need to do in order to give the patient the smile they desire. A diagnostic mock-up is often used to allow patients to virtually try on veneers to allow them to see what the final veneers will look like. A set of porcelain veneers is custom made for each patient ensuring that they will bond perfectly to the patient’s teeth.
